Year 6 (Class 16) - English - Exploring Kirkstall Abbey for Scary Story Inspiration

Our Year 5 and Year 6 pupils had an unforgettable experience visiting the historic Kirkstall Abbey as part of their creative writing project.

The trip was designed to spark imagination and help the children gather ideas for their own scary stories.
During the visit, the children explored the atmospheric ruins, paying close attention to the Abbey’s fascinating architecture and mysterious corners.

They discussed spooky settings, eerie sounds, and chilling characters that could feature in their stories. The excitement was clear as they shared ideas and planned how to bring their tales to life.
