On Wednesday class 8 had an amazing time taking part in an Anglo Saxon workshop.
They learned lots of brilliant facts and got to handle real Anglo Saxon artefacts.

Year 1 (Class 4) - Science - Body Parts
Year 1 have been learning about body parts this half term. We drew around each other and labelled the body parts that we know.
Some of us then made pasta people in our provision areas and labelled them too.

Year 1 have been learning about Picasso and cubism in Art. We looked at some of Picasso’s art work and talked about our favourite pieces and why we like them.

In English, year 1 have been reading The Highway Rat by Julia Donaldson. In our areas of provision, we designed and made masks that The Highway Rat could wear.

Year 6 (Class 15) - Art - Wartime Landscapes
Class 15 have started to sketch their war time landscapes today.
They have made a great start and worked really hard.

Year 2 (Class 5) - Maths - Number Formation
Children in class 5 have been practicing their number formation in maths.
They represented the numbers using tens and ones and then worked hard to write the correct spellings of each number.

Year 2 (Class 5) - Music - Music in My Soul Performance
In music this week the children in class 5 have really enjoyed learning the song ‘Music In My Soul’ they were very excited to perform it to share on the school website.

Year 3 (Class 8) - Science - Pollination
Today we learnt about pollination. We became the bees and we visited the different flowers to collect the nectar.
When we visited, the ‘pollen’ stuck to us and was transferred to the other flowers. We discussed how this led to fertilisation and seed production.

Year 4 (Class 11) - P.E - Ice Skating Lessons
Ice skating lessons have started again in year 3 and 4.
This week class 11 showed their skills on the ice.
The children grew in confidence throughout the session and by the end of it they were all skating independently.

Year 6 (Class 16) - P.E - Mountain Biking at Middleton Bike Park
We have re-started our sessions at Middleton Bike park which all year 5 and 6 children will have the opportunity to.
This week class 16 have enjoyed riding around the tracks. The wet weather didn't stop the children from having fun.

Year 6 (Class 16) - PSHE - Alcohol Abuse
In PSHE, we used our oracy skills and talk tokens to discuss alcohol abuse: the risks, how it affects the person, and how others in their family might be affected too.
We discussed in circle groups first, and then fed back as a whole class group.

Questions for Pupils in School
Pupil Parliament have spent a lot of time collating and analyzing ideas and opinions of all the children in their class. They asked questions around feeling safe in school and the behaviour of children in school.
