Year 6 (Class 16) - Design Technology - Different Types of Bridge
In Class 16 this week, we have been testing and building bridges, looking at different types: arch, pilar and beam, and then trailing them to see which would be the sturdiest, ready for when we build our own in a few weeks.

This week, Class 3 came up to Class 16 to help evaluate our moving toys that we have made during DT lessons.
The children loved working with the Year 1’s and the toys were a success!

This week, Class 16 have had their skills lesson.
We have been practising using cams and followers to create moving flags, which will help us decide how we want our moving toys to move, when we make them out of wood in a few weeks time.

Year 6 (Class 14) - Design Technology - Fruit Wraps
Class 14 had fun this afternoon. They used their cutting skills to make a strawberry tortilla wrap.
We discussed afterwards the different fruit, jams or spreads they could use at home to make a lovely dessert for their family.

Class 14 enjoyed trying the different ways to preserve strawberries.
They were surprised how nice the tinned ones were although some didn’t like the texture.
The jam was the favourite followed by tinned then the dried ones.
