Year 2 (Class 6) - Science - Light & Materials
Class 6 had to discover which material would let the least light through.
They made a prediction that felt would let the least light through. They decided how to test their 5 materials then worked in groups to discover which let the most and least light through.
They discovered that…

Year 1 (Class 4) - Science - Body Parts
Year 1 have been learning about body parts this half term. We drew around each other and labelled the body parts that we know.
Some of us then made pasta people in our provision areas and labelled them too.

Year 3 (Class 8) - Science - Pollination
Today we learnt about pollination. We became the bees and we visited the different flowers to collect the nectar.
When we visited, the ‘pollen’ stuck to us and was transferred to the other flowers. We discussed how this led to fertilisation and seed production.
We retold the pollination…

Year 6 (Class 16) - Science - Our Circulatory System Models
This week, we finished our model of the circulatory system.
We then used our oracy skills to present to the rest of the class.
We explained in detail using technical language, how the circulatory system works, and then we gave feedback to each group.

Year 6 (Class 14) - Science - The Circulatory System Models
In science this week class 14 have started to make their own models to represent the circulatory system.
The straws represent the wind pipe and the bags the lungs. The red and blue card represent the oxygenated and deoxygenated parts of the heart.
Next week the children will finish the…

Year 5 (Class 12) - Science - Dissecting Hearts
Class 12 enjoyed dissecting a lambs heart and looked at the different features.
They were able to identify the left and right ventricles, left and right atrium, the vena cava and the aorta.
They could also see the difference in the size of the walls for the atrium and ventricles.
They…

Year 6 (Class 16) - Science - The Circulatory System
This week, class 16 have been making their own versions of the circulatory system.
They had to follow instructions working in teams to make the diagram.

Year 5 (Class 14) - Science - Dissecting Hearts
This week in science as part of our circulatory system topic class 14 have dissected hearts.
The children have absolutely loved investigating the different chambers, valves and vessels in the hearts with real life specimens!

Year 3 (Class 8) - Science - Plants and Water
Today we looked at how the water had travelled all around the plant. We could see where the water had reached because of the red food dye.
We identified different parts of a plant and what job each part does.

Year 6 (Class 16) - Science - Dissecting Hearts
In science this week, years 5 and 6 have been dissecting a sheep’s heart.
We then looked at the difference arteries, ventricles and chambers.
