Year 6 - End of SAT's Treat Day
Year 6 have had a well early treat day today for all their hard work and the end of their SATS tests.
Some children chose to have an art morning, drawing and making bracelets.

Year 6 - Computing Club - Lego Mindstorms Sound Sensor
This week we looked at how we could get our Lego robot to move using the sound sensor we attached to it.
We used the NXT software on the laptops and learnt how to use the programming blocks program the robot.

Year 6 (Class 15) - Maths - Translating Shapes
Class 15 have been working extremely hard in Maths and children have enjoyed the challenge of completing work on translating shapes.

Year 6 - Computing Club - Lego Robots
In computing club we are building Lego NXT robots. Once built we can then program them on a laptop to move, speak and respond to commands.
Everyone is progressing well when working through the build process using the online instructions.

Year 6 (Class 16) - PSHE - Emergency Services
This week, in PSHE, class 16 started their new topic all about first aid.
The children learnt about the different emergency services and how to help someone safely in an emergency.
They then re-enacted different scenarios, where first aid would need to be used.

Class 16 enjoyed playing the target oracy game in our art lesson today.
They looked at a piece of art by our new artist Jesse ( Treece collage artist) and critiqued it using specific vocabulary.

Class 16 have been learning about what the first things to do in an emergency are.
These included: keeping yourself safe, how to help a casualty and who to call.

Class 15 enjoyed learning about the different parts of the human eye.
Children had to identify each part of the human eye and their function.

Year 6 (Class 15) - Design Technology - Phone Stands
Class 15 have made their phone stands this week, we measured accurately then cut our wood using vices and saws!
After sanding, our wood fit together really well to make a strong and stable stand for our phone to sit on.
